LEADING THE WAY

Positions of Responsibility

These are leadership roles that Scouts perform. Some of them are appropriate for advancing to Star, Life, and Eagle Scout ranks. For a scout to advance to the rank of Star, Life, and Eagle Scout, they must hold one of the following leadership positions for a certain amount of time. Star, you must hold one of these positions for 4 months or more and for Life and Eagle, you must hold them for 6 months or more.

Scouts should look through the leadership descriptions below and find a few that interest them. After discussing the commitment with your parents and senior patrol leader fill out the Leadership Position Interest Application. Filling out this form helps us keep TroopMaster, advancement records, and the troop roster updated when someone needs to contact a scout in a leadership role.

Monthly Leadership Journal

The monthly leadership position report card is used by scouts to keep track of what they do in their leadership role. When a scout is ready for rank advancement or done serving in a position the form is used to help the scout review what they did well, where they could improve and actions that were not effective in their role.
