Taste of Clarence

Troop 93 needs your help at the Taste of Clarence this Monday! We will be directing cars to their parking spots and emptying trash bins again this year. It’s our largest fundraiser of the year and often the most difficult to get enough help because of vacations and work schedules. Many hands makes light(and fun!) work.

Scott Simmons has created a Signup Genius to keep track of participants.

Please wear at minimum Class B uniforms but ideally Class A to put the troop in the best light possible.
A major change this year is that it runs from 12-8PM this year. That should get us home earlier but puts a strain on finding enough adults to maintain two deep leadership.

In addition to our gratitude, all Alumni from Troop 93(parents and scouts) will receive a free Troop 93 sticker! I’d love to see a whole bunch of our Eagles come back home to roost.

If you can help out with marking out the lines for cars, we are hoping to do that on Sunday. If you have any questions please reach out to Jim Collins (716) 983-3041 or Scott Simmons at (716) 983-6659. If they don’t know the answer, they can likely point you in the direction of the person who does.

Clarence Wide Trash the Trash Day

Good afternoon, all. We have the signup ready to go for Trash the Trash on Saturday, May 1st. We ask that you choose a section of the path and then do your cleanup as a pack at whatever time that day is good for you.  Our pack will begin working at 10am.  We have done several bike path cleanups in the past and depending on how much trash there is to collect, it takes us anywhere from 1.5 – 2 hours.  I would strongly encourage your scouts to wear gloves.  Full garbage bags can be left at your starting or ending point on the path for pickup by the town.

Just a tip, if you plan to work for two hours, work one side of the path until the hour mark, then turn around and do the other side of the path heading back. This way you are working your way through efficiently.  Our pack often will work collectively on both sides and enjoy a stroll on the way back singing songs, telling jokes and just walking the path together.  Either way works.

We truly believe this will be a great day for the Clarence Packs and Troops to work together to better the Clarence community.  Thank you all so much for your participation. And please, take some pics for us to share with council!

The link to the signup is here *** signup *** and the map is attached with the designated sections.  You will need to reference this when doing the signup.

This is our first time planning something like this so if I’m missing something, please let me know! And of course, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out.

We are at section 2 for our clean up

Troop 93 Fish Fry Fundraiser

Clarence Troop 93 is running a Krolick’s fish fry fundraiser on Good Friday (4/2) to aid scouts in attending a once in a lifetime camping experience(Philmont). The fundraiser will be held in the parking lot of the Clarence United Methodist Church (across from the Middle School). We will be pre-selling dinners for pick up between 4-6:30. Please approach from Main Street towards the Strickler Road entrance when you come to pick up your order.

Dinners will be presale only. Pre-sale orders can be made through any Troop 93 scout for $14 or you may purchase them online for $15.

Philmont is a Scouts BSA high adventure base in New Mexico. We are going on a 12 day hiking trek in 2022. This trip is often the pinnacle of a scout’s career. It teaches leadership, teamwork and puts into action all of the skills that a scout has learned to date in their career.
